I am very humbled and honored to have been nominated by my peers as ASCAP’s “Best TV Composer of 2013” alongside 4 super talented composers. There is also a separate category for “Best Film Score.” This is the first time that ASCAP has offered these awards. If you are an ASCAP member, I strongly encourage you to vote… we have needed an award like this for our community for a very long time to equal the awards voted on by the guilds of our compatriots at the DGA (directors), SAG (actors), ACE (editors) etc. You must be an ASCAP writer member to vote, but if you are, I hope you will take few seconds to vote for your favorite and support the process!

As some of you have deduced already, almost 2 months ago I started scoring NBC’s very successful new drama “The Blacklist.” It’s been a crazy fun ride with a fantastic crew, and it returns tonight at 10pm with a special insanely action-packed episode. If that’s not enough to tempt you, here is a photo our post producer took yesterday from the mix stage featuring James Spader with a very large gun.

I really appreciate your input, and tried to include as many of the suggestions you made as I possibly could. There are many favorites from season 5, along with a few gems that I included from earlier in the series. Twenty additional cues, at just 50 cents a pop… I hope that you will support my music and our show and purchase it legally. It is available NOW on iTunes! Coming soon… a version will be available as a physical CD that you can order from Amazon (just like Vol. 1).
